As the heating season approaches, we’re making it easier for you to get the help you need. An Energy Services representative will be at the Kaukauna Public Library on Thursday, November 20, from 8:30am–1:30pm to assist with energy assistance applications and answer your questions.

2025 – 2026 Energy Assistance Heating Season Gift Card Giveaway
First-time eligible applicants will receive a $50 KU gift card. Plus, all eligible applicants will be entered to win one of three $100 gift cards. *To qualify for the giveaway, you must apply for Energy Assistance at this event.
What to Bring to your Energy Assistance Appointment:
- Names, birth dates, and social security numbers for all people living in the home on the date of application.
- Lease, if renting.
- Utility bills showing account numbers for both heat and electric vendors.
- Proof of all income received in the month prior to the month of the appointment. For a November appointment, bring October’s income.
- If you are working, please bring check stubs with PAY DATES (not pay periods) in the month prior to application – October PAY DATES for a November application, for example.
- If you work seasonally, such as teaching or bus driving, please bring your W2 from the prior tax year.
- If you are self-employed, have rental income, or are a farmer, please bring income tax forms – 1040 Schedule 1 and any lettered schedules you have (C, E, F).
- For Social Security, SSI, or Social Security Disability Income, bring your most recent benefit letter or a bank statement showing direct deposit.
- For pensions, IRAs or annuities, interest, and dividends, bring your 1099’s from the last tax year or your 1040.
- For child support, bring a printout showing all payments received in the month prior to the month of the application. If it is November15 , bring a printout showing payments received or paid from October 1-30 . If you have this information on your phone but not in paper form, you can email the screen shot to the intake worker.
If you do not have the information with you, you have 30 days to complete the application with Energy Services. However, to qualify for the KU gift card giveaway, applications must be completed and received on 11/20/25.
