Kaukauna Utilities Featured in March The Municipality Magazine

Kaukauna Utilities’ mission of providing its customers with reliable service at a low cost was highlighted in the March The Municipality magazine.

“Public power utilities have a great story to tell. There is so much benefit to the community we serve, and our hopes are to broaden communication efforts to educate customers beyond what they pay for electric rates,” said Brittany Simonson, who authored the article.

The League’s March issue of The Municipality magazine is focused on the role of public utilities in Wisconsin’s cities and villages.  While there are only 81 “public power” utilities in Wisconsin, every municipality has a public water and wastewater utility. In addition to the article on Kaukauna Utilities, the magazine features articles from the Municipal Electric Utilities of Wisconsin on public power, by the Wisconsin Rural Water Association on water utility challenges, and a legal article on municipal utility governance.

The Municipality is published by the League of Wisconsin Municipalities and circulates to almost 10,000 local elected officials and staff in Wisconsin’s 602 cities and villages.  It is available to read online:  http://www.lwm-info.org/828/The-Municipality-Magazine
