NOTICE: KAUKAUNA UTILITIES WATER DEPARTMENT INDUSTRIAL SITE WATER TOWER PAINTING PROJECT

NOTICE

KAUKAUNA UTILITIES WATER DEPARTMENT
INDUSTRIAL SITE WATER TOWER PAINTING PROJECT

Repainting of the exterior and wet interior of Kaukauna Utilities Industrial Site water tower (located on Tower Drive) will begin next week and is expected to take three months to complete.

In order to repaint the tower, effective Monday, May 14, it will be drained and taken out of service. This means that the Ann Street water tower, on the city’s south side, will be the only elevated water storage available. The Ann Street tower will also control the water pressure throughout the city. Kaukauna Utilities does not anticipate any changes in the water system with the Industrial Site water tower out of service, but there may be some minor water pressure fluctuations, due to the distance between the Ann Street tower and the city’s north side.

There is also the small possibility that some sediment in the underground water pipes could be disturbed if the water flow direction in a pipe changes. Kaukauna Utilities has just completed its spring hydrant flushing, which should reduce the chances of seeing any discoloration in the water.
