Kaukauna Utilities Employee Earns Journey Status

Kaukauna Utilities employee Neil Jack recently graduated from a four-year indentured linerepairer apprentice program offered through Chippewa Valley Technical College.

Jack was one of 29 apprentices from utilities around the state who completed apprenticeships and received diplomas on January 10 at the Municipal Electric Utilities of Wisconsin/Rural Electric Cooperatives Joint Superintendents Conference in Stevens Point. As an apprentice, Jack completed 640 hours of related training and 8,000 hours of on-the-job training to achieve his status as a journey electric lineworker.

Kaukauna Utilities Distribution Engineer Eric Miller and Distribution Superintendent Mark Biddle attended the graduation ceremony, along with members of the graduates’ families. “We congratulate Neil on the completion of his apprenticeship,” said Kaukauna Utilities General Manager Jeff Feldt. “The invaluable training and knowledge he has received will help him perform highly skilled work on our community’s high-voltage electric distribution system.”
