Water is one of our most precious resources. Because it flows so easily from our faucets, we sometimes don’t appreciate its value. Even though water is the most abundant resource on earth and is essential for life, the quantities of fresh water are limited. Water tables are decreasing, and it’s becoming more difficult and costly to find and deliver fresh water.

We need to save water every way we can and conservation is the key in providing fresh water for the future. KU’s conservation plan assists you in conserving this valuable asset. We prove the following incentives to encourage the installation of water saving appliances. Incentives for each measure shall not exceed 50% of the purchase price, with a max rebate shown below.

CEE (Consortium for Energy Efficiency)

Tier 3 Clothes Washer: $200

To qualify the Clothes Washer must have :

  • Modified Energy Factor (MEF) of 2.92 or greater
  • Water factor (WF) of 3.2 or less

Tier 1 dishwasher: $100

To qualify the Standard Dishwasher must have:

  • Max. gallons/cycle of 3.5 or less
  • Max.  energy use of 270 kWh/yr or less

To qualify the Compact Dishwasher must have:

  • Max. gallons/cycle of 3.1
  • Max. energy use of 203 kWh/yr
