The Kimberly Hydroelectric Project is located adjacent to the Cedars Lock and Dam and is about 12.1 miles downstream from Lake Winnebago on the Fox River within the Village of Kimberly. The powerhouse utilizes head created by the Cedars Lock and Dam which is owned, operated and maintained by the U.S. Corps of Engineers. The Hydro related facilities at this site that are owned by Kaukauna Utilities include only a powerhouse that is located on the south bank of the Fox River.
The reinforced concrete substructure of the powerhouse is approximately 44 feet deep by 162.4 feet long. The brick superstructure houses three turbine-generator sets and contains an overhead crane.
The powerhouse structure consists of an integral intake, turbine pit, draft tubes and tailrace and contains three vertical shaft propeller-type turbine generating units.
